I went back to my car and drove past my house, checking to see if everything was okay. The spell I’d placed on the house would maintain it, so I didn’t always have to be there. I missed staying there sometimes. Before I left, I went through every room, making sure nothing had been disturbed. Even though I placed wards so no intruder with evil intentions would set foot in it, you never knew.

When I was done, I left and drove to the mansion.

I parked my car and went inside. Some servants were in the courtyard, and some were inside preparing things for when Aladar awoke.

I went straight to my room. Unsure of what to do, I spotted the journal sitting on the nightstand. I haven’t read it since I’d used it for the location spell. I needed to read more and speak with Amoria about this.

I went to the kitchen and got myself a glass of wine. With the journal in my hand, I made my way to the library. Perhaps Ken wrote something before his demise about who this guy is and what his motives were. When I got to the library, it was empty.

I put on some classical music, sat down on one of the sofas, and read. Unfortunately, I found nothing useful in the remaining pages. Ken’s paranoia deepened as he continued to deal with the mystery man. Nothing indicated he knew he was going to die that night. The last page was torn in half.

“Well, that was disappointing,” I said to the empty room.

I decided to look around. The library was vast, started by the guardian before Amoria. When Amoria moved in and rearranged the whole mansion, she added more material. And now Aladar had added even more.

I climbed the steps to the second floor within the library and skimmed the shelves, hoping to find something about Faery and its secret in the archives. I thought Amoria may have brought some with her, but after looking for a while, I couldn’t find any references for Faery.

I was beginning to feel a bit tired, so I decided a short nap would be nice. Instead of going up to my room, I opted for the lounge chair near the window. As I stepped down the stairs, a book caught my eye. The spine was engraved with a golden A, and I knew it was about Atlantis.

This should be interesting.

I wondered if Aladar had brought it with him. I grabbed the book, went back downstairs, and made myself comfortable on the lounge, and after a while, I fell asleep.
